Working on Christmas Day

This coming Christmas Day would be my very first time to work on a holiday. In the past years where I was working in a different industry I always celebrate Christmas with family and friends (read vacation). Now that I switched career/profession and became a nurse, working on a holiday is always expected. I could care less with the other holidays in a year but working on Christmas Day is somewhat different. Being in the essential service industry, I have to be at work.

Don't get me wrong, I love my job and I enjoyed what I do. It gives me a lot of insights that I can forever be thankful of my health. I felt so much relief every time I get a chance to encounter different people with different challenges in their health. It is a very rewarding experience.
